Road to Demo Day

ICYMI, we had our Octant Accelerator Demo Day last week.

We had 4 action-packed weeks with some of the best builders and speakers from this industry. The aim was to equip builders with everything they needed to grow, with a pretty intense structure where they'd implement learnings right after. And, suffice to say, we're pretty proud of the results.

To recap some numbers:

🚨 Surprise Surprise! Introducing a Streaming Quadratic Funding round.

If you're an Octant epoch participant, you're eligible to participate in our inaugural Streaming Quadratic Funding (SQF) round in partnership with Flow State and Superfluid. We're bringing a 15 ETH funding pot to experiment with a new funding model.

SO what's SQF?

It's Quadratic Funding (QF) but better. In the current QF model, users donate to the round and BOOM: projects get matched and the round ends.

With SQF, Instead of a one-time donation, you stream donations that get matched and received by projects in real-time. You decide the amount you want to stream to each project and decide the cadence with the options to opt for a fixed amount daily, weekly, or monthly.

If a project is doing amazing and starts to excel (inspiring you to donate more), with SQF you absolutely can. On the flip side, if a grantee rugs the project or is not delivering on what they've requested funds for, you can also stop future streaming of funds.

This empowers donors with flexibility on streams as well as giving new donors the ability to grow the overall funding pot by adding more funding to it. (So if you'd like to be more generous to make our week and add 1 ETH or 15 ETH to this SQF pot, by ALL means please do! <3)This is a big moment for us. As we think through sustainability, we know how impactful the success of this round and this tech can be. It could mean changing the game for donors and grantees in a p big way. If you’ve voted in our past epochs OR attended our demo day, you should have an NFT that makes you eligible to donate/vote. You’ll need ETH on Base to participate.
